WE ARE ON OUR WINTER BREAK AND PLAN TO RE-OPEN IN FEBRUARY
We are a husband and wife team and embarked on the adventure of owning our very own pub which came into fruition the Summer of 2018. Whilst leaving everything we knew in the city, we couldn't wait for the next chapter. Having spent many weeks and weekends away in Dorset we knew exactly where we wished to reside.
The quaint little village of Askerswell, near Bridport in Dorset, offered everything we could of hoped for and more. The Spyway Inn offers not only everything we envisaged in way of local Ales, ciders and locally sourced produce; But a warm and welcoming community and a view to feast our eyes upon.
We hope you enjoy your visit and we look forward to welcoming you soon.
Situated above the village of Askerswell, Dorset on an old road called Spyway, this interesting old smuggler's inn, said to be haunted, dates back to 1845 when it was first licensed.
Nestling in beautiful countryside, the rear beer garden provides magnificent views, stunning scenery and a beautiful family area to relax in the sun.
We have a large parking area and are open 7 days a week. We accept all major credit cards. We are very near to Eggardon Hill if you fancy a walk in the beautiful surrounding countryside.
The public bar is cosy and quaint, in keeping with the rest of this charming old inn. Along with Traditional Real Ales, the oak beams and log fires create a warm and friendly atmosphere full of old English character.
We also provide food in our restaurant which is in keeping with the beauty of our bar. Our food is always cooked to the highest quality and we are committed to using suppliers from the local and south-west region.
We serve the best cask ales available, which are brewed from traditional natural ingredients.
Whilst we are under new ownership, a huge deciding factor when purchasing The Spyway Inn was the fantastic feedback from previous visitors. With 200+ reviews on Trip Advisor and counting, don't just take our word for it...
